In May 2014, legendary Jamaican singer Sizzla joined forces with Australian producer Mista Savona to release their seminal album collaboration, 'Born A King'.
Hailed by many media outlets as Sizzla's best album release in ten years, singles such as 'I'm Living', 'Blessed' and 'Champion Sound' created big waves, accompanied by dynamic remix EP's tailored to suit both the Reggae & Electronic markets. These proved a big success amongst DJ's globally, and it wasn't long before requests for the instrumentals & dubs were coming in thick and fast, with many selectors stepping forward to do their own mashups and dubplates. Mista Savona was happy to oblige, and soon found himself back in the studio re-visiting the album sessions, stripping back the full package to its raw essentials.
The result is the instrumental companion album, ‘Born A King: The Riddims & Instrumentals’, a record that spans styles from reggae, dub, dancehall, nyabinghi, hip-hop & more. Every track on the album stands on it's own as an instrumental workout, and is a testament to Savona's solid, focused and original production & musicianship that is behind Sizzla's 'Born A King'.
